As the cultural industry is developing quickly, many modern cultural venues have been established in China. Consequently, the need has grown for professional talents. To meet this demand, China International Culture Association has launched the Art Professional and Management Talents International Exchange Program.

From 2013 to 2018, the association held a series of master classes based on the program. More than 80 domestic and foreign experts were invited to give on-site classes to personnel from the performing arts, cultural exhibitions and handicraft industries, helping to promote professional standards and business capabilities of cultural practitioners. Seventeen master classes have been successfully held covering theater management, art gallery management, handicraft design, performing arts and marketing and theater education, attracting a large number of students and winning high praise.

The courses were designed based on advice from domestic and foreign experts and give students professional training through special lectures, case studies, college Q&As and seminars. The master classes also provide students with opportunities to interact with cultural elites from home and abroad, study international advanced management and become involved in international art exchanges. No longer relying on traditional cramming, the classes’ innovative methods help students actively participate in learning, which greatly improves teaching efficiency and results.

Having talents with an international perspective and high level of understanding is an urgent need for the development of China’s cultural industries. It also plays a key role in promoting Chinese culture abroad. According to feedback, the project has broadened the cultural practitioners’ international horizon and strengthened communication and cooperation between domestic and foreign personnel.
